The beautiful month of June has arrived. We have started our annual flower garden planting
ritual.
I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Al Sirat’s Memorial Day Celebration at
Monroe Cemetery and York Road Cemetery. The day started with everyone meeting for breakfast at the Original Pancake House in Strongsville and finished with a picnic at the home of the Darling’s in Valley City. We are looking forward to our monthly meeting on June 15th. The Daughters of Mokanna will be serving a meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy before the meeting. This is their annual Inspection. Cost of the dinner is $12.00. This is a fundraiser for their convention fund. We hope you will attend. Please R.S.V.P. to me at 216-551-
0812 if you plan on coming for dinner.
Al Sirat will be traveling to Caliph Grotto in Painesville on June 22nd for their annual Inspection. Caliph does start their meeting at 7 p.m. That same week, the Monarch with officers and members and their ladies will be traveling to Erie, Pennsylvania for the Grotto International 136th Annual Supreme Council Session. Several activities during the week feature Haunted House History Tour at Union Train Station with dinner, an Erie Seawolves Baseball Game. The
Grand Opening is Wednesday night, followed by General Business meetings, Caucus’s, Humanitarian Foundation Seminar, BBQ by the Bay, Leadership & Training Seminar, Grand Monarch’s Banquet, Clown competition, and Hospitality Room visits with competition. This lists a few of the events happening during the week of convention.
A brief look ahead to July and August. Al Sirat’s annual Family Picnic is on Saturday, July 11th at Brookside Park Metroparks system near our masonic temple. Our annual Golf Outing is planned for Friday, August 14th. Details to follow.
Looking forward to seeing you all this summer.
