July 2026 Monarch's Message

To All of our Prophets, Ladies and Friends,

Happy 250th Anniversary America! Enjoy your 4th of July celebrations with family and friends

safely.

A week after the 4th, Al Sirat Grottos will be hosting its Annual Family Picnic July 11th at

Brookside Metro Park, which is right next to Brookside Masonic Temple. We have reserved the back pavilion. Festivities begin at 3 p.m. Games will be at 4 p.m. and Dinner will be at 5 p.m. Please come and enjoy fun, fellowship and new & old friends! Bring your family’s favorite dish to share, whether it be a main dish or a dessert. Beverages, hamburgers and hot dogs will be supplied.

It is with sadness to report the loss of one of our oldest members, Judge George Spanagel at 102 ½ years old. On behalf of Al Sirat Grotto I had the privilege to present George with his 60 year pin in 2018 with George’s wife and son present.

As I am writing this message, in 7 days Rhonda and I will be traveling to Erie, PA for the Supreme Grotto Convention on the Shores of Lake Erie. A more detailed report will follow in the August Black Fez.

In this addition of the Black Fez, you will find the registration form for the Annual Grotto Golf Outing on Friday, August 14th at Cossett Creek Golf Course. Please call or send in your reservation form to me or Gary Mikoch by August 10th.

We have a tentative date scheduled for Friday, August 21st to go on a pontoon boat ride on Portage Lakes with dinner at Dano’s Lakeside Pub. Exact details will follow in an email blast and in the August Black Fez.

I am looking forward to seeing all our fellow Prophets and families at our annual picnic in July!
