I hope you are enjoying the Summer. The weather has been great and there are so many things to do. On Memorial Day, Al Sirat Grotto conducted ceremonies honoring our Fallen Veterans at Monroe Street Cemetery and York Street Cemetery. Of significance this year, at Monroe Street Cemetery, a new grave marker was placed for Revolutionary War Veteran Henry Adamy.
Saturday, June 17th we held our Annual Family Picnic, 33 were in attendance and a good time was had by all. Special thanks to everyone for their help in setting up, cooking, serving, and clean-up. It was an “old fashion” family style picnic, complete with the obligatory egg and balloon toss! Fermentation team is meeting on July 15th at the Wine Mill. Bring a friend or two.... August 5th we will be hosting our Annual Golf Outing at Cossett Creek Golf Course. Get your foursome together. This event is open to non-Prophet, especially those who might be interested in joining the Grotto. First tee is 9am...coffee and pastries upon arrival, Hot Dogs and favorite beverages at the turn, Steak Roast when finished. Not a golfer, join us for the Steak Roast, or just hang out during the day.
August 11th we are invited to join Caliph Grotto at the Captains Game. Includes Fireworks, Game Ticket in a Loge and Meal.
Fermentation Team meets for Octoberfest on September 16th at the Schnitzel house. Remember, our Social Events are open to the Friends and Family of Al Sirat. Invite them, they may be interested in joining.
Finally, if you have not already done so, purchase your raffle tickets for the Yeti Cooler Package Raffle. It is this year’s Al Sirat Charitable Corp’s fund-raising event.
