May 2026 Monarch's Message

Hope everyone had a nice Easter and Passover holiday with your family.

The month of May has arrived! I am looking forward to warmer weather, the flowering plants,

planting a garden and a flower garden. I am cleaning up my motorcycle and getting it ready to ride. I am also gearing up to play golf twice a week. What are you looking forward to?

Al Sirat Grotto has a golf league starting on May 7th at 9:30 a.m. at Bob-O-Link Golf Course in

Avon. All are welcome no matter what your golf experience is. There is a $20.00 fee to join. For more information call David Finley at 216-554-0281 or myself at 216-551-0812. FORE!

Don’t forget to celebrate Mother’s Day on May 10th. If your Mom is present or departed, never forget the love and sacrifice that she made for us.

The City of Cleveland has the honor this year of welcoming the U.S. Navy to the home port of Cleveland. The USS Cleveland LSC-31 will be commissioned in its home port. This is the first time the commission of a U.S. ship will take place at the city for which it is named. USS Cleveland arrives May 9th through the 17th. As a former Naval Airman, I plan on attending the ceremony. (Maybe I can get into my uniform…ha ha) I had the pleasure of being on board of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CV-69 when it was commissioned in 1978.

Also, in the month of May we will hold our annual observance of Memorial Day on May 25th. The day will start with breakfast at the Pancake House Restaurant, 15315 Pearl Rd., Strongsville, OH at 8 a.m. then proceed to Monroe Cemetery for 10 a.m. service. After that we will proceed to York Cemetery for an 11:30 a.m. service. All are welcome to join us and participate in the ceremony. After the memorial services I would like to invite everyone to my home for a
